Tuff-Pole Finishes

Square Tuff-Poles - smooth with choice of sheen

Shakespeare Composite Structures™ Tuff-Poles® come in textured, smooth, and veil finishes to accomodate your needs.  Poles, arms, and accessories are coated with a proprietary, polyurethane coating that is pigmented throughout in the finished color of the pole.  All Tuff-Poles incorporate UV-resistance into resin and coatings for maximum life in adverse weather conditions.

Still hot from initial manufacturing, the poles are wound with an additional resin-impregnated, pigmented polyester cloth. After curing and cooling, they're polished before receiving their finish coat of pigmented polyurethane.

Once the Tuff-Pole shafts are made and coated, the final manufacturing step is to outfit them for use in the customer's specific application. That means adding pole caps, tenons, anchor bases, etc., and drilling the poles to accept a variety of mast arms, brackets, or other specified attachments.  Handholes and wiring entrance openings are cut into the pole in the specified positions.  In addition, holes are predrilled for a variety of other attachments that are to be assembled on the installation site, including arms, brackets, etc.
