Breakaway Poles


Designed to reduce injuries in the event of vehicular impact, Breakaway poles are specially joined so they'll break off and fly over a vehicle that strikes them, reducing the potential danger to the vehicle's occupants.  They are required in certain applications near roadways.

Shakespeare Composite Structures engeered the first Breakaway poles, and the company holds patents on joining techniques with which the poles are assembled.
