Shakespeare Composite Structures™ Acquires Crossarms Manufacturer Shakespeare Composite Structures™ has acquired Lewtex Technological Manufacturing, Inc., a maker of fiberglass reinforced composite crossarms for the utility pole industry. The purchase became effective February 6, 1998. A manufacturer of composite light poles, engineered composites, Armor-Rail® structural deck and stair railing systems and other consumer and industrial product lines, Shakespeare Composite Structures is the world leader in fiberglass reinforced composite utility poles. Lewtex, of Graham, TX,™ is the leader in design and manufacture of composite crossarms in the United States. "This strategic acquisition allows us to offer a package distribution and transmission product of composite poles and crossarms," a company spokesperson said. Offering the same benefits
as the company's durable composite utility poles, composite crossarms and
dead ends are becoming widely used on steel, concrete, and wood distribution
and transmission poles. Their exceptional strength and endurance make
them ideal for use on composite poles. Now a division of GenlyteThomas Group
(Louisville, KY), Shakespeare Composite Structures™ has since the
1950's pioneered the use of fiberglass reinforced composites in lighting
and utility poles. Shakespeare Composite Structures™ is on the World Wide Web at www.skp-cs.com. For more information, just call. (800-800-9008). |
