Shakespeare Composite Structures™ Ships High-Load Composite Crossarms Shakespeare Composite Structures™ has
begun shipping a new line of extra strong, extra rigid fiberglass reinforced
composite crossarms for a variety of applications in the utility pole industry.
The Lewtex® crossarms have load capabilities up to 12,500 pounds per
position and are made up to 14 feet long.
Shakespeare Composite Structures™, the industry leader in composite utility poles, acquired Lewtex, the leader in design and manufacture of composite crossarms in the United States, in 1998. The new high-load crossarm is the first expansion of the Lewtex® line since the acquisition. Offering the same benefits as Shakespeare Composite Structures™ durable composite utility poles, composite crossarms and dead ends are widely used on steel, concrete, and wood distribution and transmission poles. Their exceptional strength and endurance make them ideal for demanding applications in severe climates. Like all Lewtex® crossarms, the new product is processed with three-stage UV protection for maximum life. The 4"x7½" structures are well suited for all extra heavy duty under build and H-frame applications. Lewtex crossarms for transmission structures are made in lengths up to 54 feet. Now a division of Genlyte Thomas Group, LLC (Louisville, KY), Shakespeare Composite Structures™ has since the 1950's pioneered the use of fiberglass reinforced composites in lighting and utility poles. Shakespeare Composite Structures™ is on the World Wide Web at www.skp-cs.com. For more information, just call. (800-800-9008). |
