These beauties bring the good looks of times past to contemporary restoration projects, shopping malls, and city streets. In addition, we can cast new composite designs to match any existing iron or concrete pole, and with short turnaround.

Light weight decorative composite Tuff-Poles save time, labor, and equipment during installation. Many original installations or renovations can be entirely erected by a two- or three-person crew without expensive cranes or lifts. Shakespeare Composite Structures' direct burial poles can be set with substantially reduced site preparation, minimal equipment and resulting traffic disturbance.

Standard, special, and premium colors are available, including architectural colors, and any color can be matched. See Colors. The poles are coated with a custom formulated, proprietary, polyurethane containing UV inhibitors to help prevent fading over time. Shakespeare Composite Structures engineers have designed UV inhibitors into both the resin and the polyurethane finish for maximum UV performance.

Direct Burial Efficiency
Shakespeare Composite Structures Direct Burial decorative poles mount directly into the ground. Constructed of the same composite as the rest of the pole, our anti-rotation burial section is designed for stability and longevity. You can also use the separate Composite Burial Foot to quickly and inexpensively install most Shakespeare Composite Stuctures Anchor Base poles as though they were direct burial style.

Shakespeare Composite Structures Decorative Composite and Polymer Concrete Base Composite Tuff-Poles are engineered for performance. Wind loading for all of our poles is calculated in accordance with the AASHTO Standard Specification for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires and Traffic Signals, most current version. All of our EPA calculations include a 30-percent gust factor, in accordance with the standard.
